HM Treasury wrongly defines Icelanders as terrorists - the evidence

As a result of the invocation of the Anti-terrorism, Crime and Security Act of 2001, Landsbanki was placed on a list of regimes (!) subjected to financial sanction by the British government, joining Al-Qaida, the Taliban, Belarus, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and 10 other organisations or countries known for political unrest or oppressive dictatorships.

Increasing number of signatures from outside Iceland

We are overwhelmed by the phenomenal participation in our petition to have the invocation of the Anti-terrorism Act by the British government against Icelanders repealed. At the time of writing, just over 59,000 have signed and hundreds have sent in postcard messages directed at Gordon Brown´s government. Coverage of our campaign in media from all over the world is helping to raise awareness of Iceland´s predicament and the British government´s hard handed tactics. As a result, there has been a steady increase in the number of signatures from outside Iceland. Yesterday alone, almost a thousand Swedes signed the petition. Such support from our friends in Sweden and elsewhere fills us with hope and determination. THANKS! and spread the word.
